Tissue phenotyping and morpho-functional profiling.

Assistant professor at University of Trieste

About

I explore cellular differentiation, development, and tissue plasticity, with a focus on skeletal muscles. I investigate internal membranes, I study the correlation of metabolism with muscle functionality, and explore sex-dependent differences, integrating microscopy and molecular approaches to bridge fundamental biology with translational research on aging and regeneration. My research integrates in vitro and in vivo approaches, including cell culture systems, animal models, and the analysis of human tissues. I have developed specific expertise in the histomorphological characterization of skeletal muscle cells and tissues, as well as in conventional and confocal fluorescence microscopy.
