MetaPrevent-NCD: A Pan-European AI-Driven Metaverse Platform for Youth Resilience and Lifestyle Disease Prevention

Research Fellow at WINS Research Center, Kocaeli University, Turkey

Izmit, Türkiye

About

MetaPrevent-NCD is positioned as a platform initiative, not a single-purpose intervention. The objective is to create a pan-European digital prevention infrastructure that embeds prevention into the daily digital lives of young people. The platform will deliver an immersive, AI-driven metaverse ecosystem that integrates physical activity, metabolic risk prevention, stress management, sleep optimisation, and behavioural resilience into one adaptive platform. The system is designed for sustained engagement, long-term adherence, and real-world institutional deployment. By combining immersive AR/VR environments, adaptive AI coaching, physiotherapy-led movement protocols, evidence-based behavioural science, and structured motivational design, the platform transforms prevention into a lived experience rather than a clinical transaction. This directly addresses the core failure mode of youth prevention: disengagement. The system will be co-designed with young people and deployed through living labs in schools, universities, and clinical environments across multiple countries. A multi-site clinical pilot will validate feasibility, safety, engagement, and impact on behavioural and early metabolic outcomes. This project will deliver a reusable European digital prevention asset aligned with EU priorities on youth wellbeing, digital transformation, and sustainable healthcare systems.
