Multisectoral Implementation Research for Chronic Non‑Communicable Diseases

About
We propose to contribute strategic participatory, implementation science and policy translation expertise to a GACD‑aligned consortium focused on tackling chronic non‑communicable diseases through multisectoral action beyond traditional health systems.
This topic funds implementation research that strengthens collaboration and coordination across sectors and settings outside healthcare—such as education, workplaces, community spaces and public policy environments—to reduce NCD burden in LMICs and underserved populations, addressing key social and structural determinants of health.
How we can contribute
1. Participatory and multisectoral implementation design
We bring advanced participatory methodologies, value‑design thinking and co‑creation approaches to ensure interventions are informed by people and systems across sectors (e.g., education, social protection). Our approach promotes equitable engagement of patients, communities, employers, educators, policymakers and non‑health sectors from project conception to knowledge translation, aligned with the call’s emphasis on collaborative action beyond healthcare settings.
2. Iterative pilot testing and real‑world evaluation
Our expertise in iterative piloting of acceptance and usability enables us to evaluate interventions’ feasibility, uptake and scalability across diverse contexts.
3. Policy engagement and translation
We specialise in facilitating policy dialogue, including policy roundtables and Green Paper–style consultation processes, to build consensus around intervention implementation enablers, governance frameworks and sustainability pathways with local and regional authorities. This strengthens translation of research into policy and practice, supporting long‑term impact beyond project funding.
4. Equity and determinants of health integration
Aligned with the call’s requirements, we apply equity‑focused frameworks that integrate social, economic and structural determinants of health into intervention design and evaluation. This includes explicit strategies for engaging underserved populations and reducing health disparities, a crucial dimension of GACD‑driven implementation research.
