Full Professor Clinical Pathology and Head of Laboratory Unit at Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico

Rome, Italy

About

Prof. Silvia Angeletti is a Full Professor of Clinical Microbiology at Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, with extensive experience in infectious diseases, clinical and molecular microbiology, and advanced diagnostic technologies.

Her research activity focuses on:

  • Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) mechanisms and surveillance

  • Molecular and culture-based diagnostics for bacterial, viral and fungal infections

  • Clinical microbiology applied to patient management, sepsis and hospital-acquired infections

  • Evaluation and implementation of innovative diagnostic tools, including rapid and high-throughput approaches

  • Integration of omics technologies and laboratory data into translational and clinical research

Prof. Angeletti has strong experience in multidisciplinary and international research projects, bridging basic research, clinical practice and diagnostic innovation. She is interested in participating in Horizon Europe collaborative projects as a partner contributing clinical expertise, access to well-characterized clinical samples, diagnostic validation, and interpretation of microbiological data in a translational perspective.

She is particularly open to collaborations within consortia addressing:

  • AMR and infectious disease preparedness

  • Novel diagnostics and biomarkers

  • One Health approaches

  • Digital health, AI-supported diagnostics and decision-making tools

  • Translational research and clinical validation studies

  • dPCR for rapid sepsis diagnosis

The Campus Bio-Medico of Rome provides a strong clinical and translational research environment, facilitating close interaction between laboratory research and patient care.
