About
The Innovation
We are developing a Human Organoid-on-Chip platform to screen for microplastic-induced neurodegeneration. Crucially, we are validating this NAM against advanced MRI imaging and pilot animal data to ensure high predictive reliability.
Partners Secured (The "Heavy Lifting" is Done)
-
✅ Biology: Human Brain Organoid experts.
-
✅ Chemistry: MNP synthesis & Spectroscopic detection.
-
✅ Validation: Established pilot animal protocols (Inhalation/Oral) & MRI imaging.
-
✅ Pathology: RT-QuIC assays for Tau/α-synuclein aggregation.
Partners We Are Seeking
1. Microfluidic / Chip Engineer (Priority)
-
Role: Design the "Hardware Interface" for the organoids (simulating blood flow/BBB).
-
Keywords: Bio-MEMS, Organ-on-Chip, Microfluidics.
2. Regulatory Science & Safety Assessment
-
Role: Ensure the NAM platform meets the criteria for regulatory acceptance.
-
Tasks: Define Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOPs), assist with OECD validation guidelines, and ensure alignment with REACH/chemical safety frameworks.
-
Keywords: Regulatory Toxicology, NGRA (Next Generation Risk Assessment), AOPs, OECD.
3. Microbiome Specialist
- Role: Formulate a probiotic Medical Countermeasure (MCM) to be screened on the platform.
Why Join MP-NEURO-NAM?
-
High TRL Potential: We aren't starting from scratch; we have the plastics, the tissues, and the validation data ready.
-
Policy Impact: With the inclusion of a regulatory work package, we aim to produce a method that creates real policy change in chemical safety testing.
