Consortium offer – Thermal proteome profiling as a human-relevant mechanistic NAM
Our team offers Thermal Proteome Profiling (TPP)–based toxicoproteomics as a human-relevant, mechanistic New Approach Methodology (NAM) to support biomedical research and regulatory testing. We specialise in identifying direct protein targets, affected pathways and early molecular initiating events triggered by chemicals, drugs and complex mixtures, providing causal, mode-of-action evidence that complements existing in-vitro, ex-vivo and advanced NAM platforms.
We contribute scalable and reproducible TPP and PISA workflows that can be integrated with human cell models, organoids, Organ-on-Chip systems and iPSC-derived platforms, strengthening biological interpretation and predictive power. Our methods enable early biomarker discovery and validation, mechanistic anchoring of phenotypic NAM readouts, and improved translation to human biology in areas where animal models show limited relevance.
The team has extensive experience in EU-funded projects addressing chemical safety and exposure-related health effects and actively supports context-of-use definition, FAIR data generation, interoperability and regulatory alignment in line with OECD and EMA expectations. We are well-positioned to contribute to work packages on mechanistic validation of NAMs, integration of multi-NAM evidence, and, supporting increased confidence, uptake and impact of NAMs while contributing to the reduction of animal testing.
