Research on hepato-gastrointestinal disorders
Tenure track researcher at Biomedical Research Institute of Málaga
Málaga, Spain
About
We are a translational and multidisciplinary research group based in IBIMA (Málaga, Spain) with focus on hepatogastrointestinal disorders, particularly Inflammatory Bowel Disease, MASLD and DILI.
Our main technical expertise are 3D cell cultures, assessment of the mitochondrial function, metagenomic and transcriptomic studies. We have access to patients clinical data and samples.
We have expertise in hepatic organoids to assess potential hepatotoxic effects of drugs, suitable for calls DESTINATION 5:HORIZON-HLTH-2026-01-TOOL-03 and DESTINATION 5: HORIZON-HLTH-2026-01-TOOL-06.
We have also expertise in using colonic organoids to assess molecular mechanisms in IBD.
We have interest in studies of the liver-heart axis for call HORIZON-HLTH-2026-01-DISEASE-15 and gut-brain axis for call HORIZON-HLTH-2026-01-STAYHLTH-02.
