Seeking Core Partners for an Innovative Health Project on Active Ageing and NCD Prevention

About
We are developing a Horizon Europe Cluster Health proposal addressing the prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including cancer, through a value-based and integrated approach to promoting active and healthy ageing, with a strong focus on non-healthcare, real-life community settings such as care homes, neighbourhoods and community-linked environments.
The project builds on an innovative intervention model that combines:
-
Community-based active ageing approaches,
-
Behavioural, psychosocial and cognitive health promotion, and
-
Nature- and environment-based enabling settings, including vertical farming or therapeutic/urban gardening, as supportive environments for behaviour change, engagement and wellbeing in older populations.
To strengthen the core scientific consortium, we are looking for academic or research organisations willing to join as core partners, bringing strong expertise in one or more of the following areas:
🔹 Integrated intervention design for active and healthy ageing
Experience in designing and validating multidimensional, prevention-oriented interventions for older adults, particularly those implemented beyond the healthcare system and adapted to diverse social and institutional contexts.
🔹 Behavioural, psychosocial and cognitive health
Strong background in behavioural science, psychosocial wellbeing, cognitive health or mental health promotion in ageing populations, including the development of age-sensitive and awareness-raising interventions and relevant outcome measures.
🔹 Implementation research and evaluation
Demonstrated expertise in implementation research applied to complex public health interventions, including mixed-methods approaches, equity considerations and familiarity with frameworks such as RE-AIM, CFIR or similar.
🔹 Environment-based intervention settings
Experience with vertical farming, therapeutic gardening, urban agriculture or other nature-based settings as part of health, wellbeing or social inclusion interventions, particularly in community or institutional environments.
Core partners are expected to contribute to scientific leadership, including methodological development, research design, evidence generation and comparative analysis within a multisectoral and multi-country consortium involving civil society organisations, local authorities and academic institutions.
Organisations interested in joining the consortium as core partners are invited to get in touch to explore alignment in expertise, expected roles and timelines.
