About
Behavioural Science in Health (BSiH) Lab – Collaboration Profile
The Behavioural Science in Health (BSiH) Lab (www.bsihlab.com) is an interdisciplinary research laboratory based at the Cyprus University of Technology, specialising in the application of behavioural science to health, healthcare delivery, and health policy. We work at the interface of psychology, medicine, public health, and digital innovation, and collaborate actively with academic, clinical, civil society, and policy stakeholders across Europe.
Our research focuses on understanding and influencing health behaviours, clinical decision-making, and implementation processes, with a strong emphasis on producing policy-relevant and practice-oriented evidence.
What we offer to EU-funded collaborations
BSiH Lab brings strong expertise in:
-
Health behaviour and behaviour change, including vaccination uptake, prevention, adherence, risk perception, and health-related decision-making
-
Behavioural and psychosocial research in mental health, stress, resilience, psycho-oncology, and social-cognitive processes
-
Clinical and health education research, including diagnostic reasoning, simulation-based learning, and decision-making in healthcare professionals (e.g. eCREST platform)
-
Digital health and mHealth solutions, including experience sampling methods (EMA), patient-reported outcomes, and real-time data collection (e.g. Momentous platform)
-
Robust methodologies, including experimental designs, mixed methods, longitudinal studies, secondary data analysis, and real-world implementation research
-
Dissemination, stakeholder engagement, and policy translation, working closely with healthcare providers, policymakers, and civil society organisations
Our role in consortia
We can contribute as:
-
Work Package lead or research partner
-
Methodology and evaluation lead
-
Behavioural insights and intervention design partner
-
Digital data collection, analysis, and validation partner
We have strong experience in EU-funded collaborative projects and are comfortable working in interdisciplinary and multi-country consortia.
Indicative fit with Horizon Europe priorities
We are particularly interested in collaborations under Horizon Europe, EU4Health, and related programmes focusing on health promotion, prevention, digital health, healthcare workforce training, and public trust in health systems. Indicative call alignment includes:
-
Behavioural interventions for NCD prevention, particularly among young people (STAYHLTH destination)
-
Post-infection and long-term conditions (e.g. Long COVID), with emphasis on decision-making, symptom appraisal, and patient-reported outcomes
-
Multisectoral and implementation research addressing chronic NCDs beyond healthcare settings (GACD-aligned calls)
-
Scaling up innovation in cardiovascular health, focusing on behavioural risk factors, adoption, and acceptability
-
Digital technologies and mental health in children and young adults, including prevention and mitigation of harmful digital effects
-
Sex- and gender-sensitive health research, particularly in cardiovascular disease prevention and management
-
Climate change and health, with focus on risk perception, communication, adaptive behaviours, and policy-relevant evidence
Cross-cutting strengths
-
Behavioural science & health psychology
-
Experimental, digital, and mixed-methods research
-
Diagnostic reasoning & clinical decision-making
-
Implementation research and policy translation
-
Proven track record in EU collaborative research
We are keen to engage with partners seeking strong behavioural science expertise to strengthen the design, implementation, and impact of EU-funded health projects.
