Expertise in developing psychological resilience for stress in young people

About
One pathway behind the risk of depression (most common NCD) in young people is how they cope both behaviorally and biologically with everyday stressors. We have identified specific biobehavioural responses that have been predictive of depression in young people, and how factors like psychological resilience and other coping factors can help mitigate that risk. We are keep to partner with a consortium that wishes to unpack the ways in which young people are at risk of depression, as well as ways of mitigating this risk. We offer a testing site where we can recruit and test young people, and expose them to a model of stress while we monitor their biobeahvioural responses and track them over time to determine which factors are more or less important in this NCD context.
We have expertise in several EU Horizon projects and lead on work-packages within them (KEEPCARING and SHIELD). Further, we are also interested in family caregivers as we harness this group as a model of chronic stress to see if they become more or less stressed after interventions.
