Improving the quality of life of cancer patients with innovative natural antioxidant with clinical proven activities
Chief Scientific officer at Algosource
Guérande, France
About
AlgoSource has developed a nutraceutical that is effective in improving the quality of life of cancer patients by improving their general health and decreasing their treatment side effects : PHYCOCARE®. The reduction of oncology side effects using PHYCOCARE® has been observed by several oncologists in France, on human and on animals since 2016. These empirical results have been supported by the demonstration in 2018 of the strong antioxidant activity of the product gained in the PHASE I clinical study SPIROX (double blind against placebo) on 40 subjects. On this basis, the Hospital of Nantes (France) has been convinced to sponsor a clinical study (PROPERTY), to demonstrate a 50 % reduction of Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN). We propose to generalize the use of this nutraceutical coupled with other products and innovative care interventions to improve the quality of live of patients aged 65 and more through nutrition.
With already few hospitals involved in the project, we are looking for partners such as specialised food technologist for erderly people, or hospitals with a very strong expertise in nutrition for cancer.
