Potential applicant for a funded RTDI project
Academy Research Fellow at Aalto University. I work on hydrodynamics, structural dynamics and monitoring of floating offshore wind, estimating hidden loads such as mooring tensions from installed sensors. Open to CETP consortium partnerships.
Aalto University is a multidisciplinary university in Espoo, Finland, combining science and technology with business and the arts. I work in the Marine and Arctic Technology group of the Department of Energy and Mechanical Engineering, which researches ship and offshore structures, ice mechanics and marine operations, with an ice and wave tank for model-scale testing. My research there, funded by the Research Council of Finland, develops real-time structural health monitoring for offshore wind.
I am an Academy Research Fellow and Principal Investigator at Aalto University, working on the hydrodynamics, structural dynamics and reliability of floating and offshore structures, with a focus on floating offshore wind. I develop methods to estimate loads that cannot be measured directly, such as mooring tensions and foundation forces, from the sensors already installed, combining wave-structure interaction modelling with reduced-order and data-driven models. Before Aalto I was Principal Offshore Structures Engineering Consultant at Mott MacDonald, working on floating offshore wind and wind-farm life extension. I would like to meet companies and research groups in offshore wind, marine technology and shipbuilding to build joint R&D projects.
