My organisation

The Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) leads polymer research through the PRISM Institute and Applied Polymer Technologies (APT) Gateway. Their focus is on sustainable polymers, recycling, advanced manufacturing, and medical technology (MedTech) applications. A new €10M APT facility with state-of-the-art labs supports industry collaboration and eco-certified research. Key projects explore bioplastics, upcycling, and novel processing methods for greener, high-performance materials.

About me

Mohamad Alsaadi is a senior research engineer at Technological University of the Shannon (TUS). His research focuses on the development of sustainable and functionally graded materials for various applications, including automotive, aviation, renewable energy, sports and leisure, and medical & Prosthetics. He has more than 20 years of experience working in academia. During Mohamad’s time, he has published several articles in peer-reviewed, indexed journals, such as Composites Part B: Engineering (Elsevier) and Polymer Composites (Wiley). He has reviewed many journals, such as Mechanics of Materials-Elsevier. He participated in, presented at, and published articles at various international conferences. He is an expert in the mechanics of polymer composites (fibre and particle reinforced). His research gate websites are:
