Saltes builds technology for the industry based on molten salts, with a focus on technologies that accelerate the energy transition by enabling the electrification of heat intensive processes. Therefore, we have developed a thermal storage system able to store salts at elevated temperature (up to 500°C), which are heated by electricity. The discharge system converts this hot salt into a hot fluid which transfers the heat to the client’s industrial process (typically this is steam).
Since 2024, head of research and development at Saltes. Hannes has a PhD degree in engineering from Valladolid University (Spain) and an MSc. Degree in Electromechanical engineering from Ghent University (Belgium). Hannes has over 20 years of experience as a researcher and project manager in the energy industry, mostly in combustion, thermodynamics and energy storage.
