About
The Solar Energy Pilot Project for the Municipal Kindergarten in Bandırma is a sustainability initiative aimed at transforming a public educational facility into a net-zero emissions building. By installing solar PV panels across a 400 m² roof and utilizing a closed-grid energy system, the project demonstrates the practical integration of clean energy in small-scale municipal facilities. Beyond technical innovation, the project focuses on social impact by using the kindergarten as a living laboratory where children participate in interactive workshops and use energy monitoring dashboards to learn about renewables. These children are intended to act as ambassadors of environmental consciousness, influencing their families and the wider community toward sustainable behaviors. Ultimately, this pilot serves as a scalable model for Bandırma Municipality to reduce its carbon footprint and promote early awareness of energy efficiency
