ClimateFlex Assets — Distributed Climate-Energy Infrastructure for Integrated Regional Energy Systems

About
ClimateFlex Assets is a project concept for CETPartnership Joint Call 2026 — Call Module 08: Integrated Regional Energy Systems.
The project explores how passive urban, mobility and territorial spaces can become a distributed network of multifunctional climate-energy assets combining renewable generation, storage, flexible demand, e-mobility and climate-adaptation services through a common physical and digital architecture.
The platform scales as:
Solar Patio → Solar Garden → Solar Forest → Solar Landscape
A Solar Patio is the basic node, combining local PV generation with shade, thermal comfort and services. Several nodes form a Solar Garden / e-Agora with shared energy, storage and local services. At larger scale, Solar Gardens form Solar Forests / EV Oasis, integrating greater generation, BESS, EV charging and mobility services. Multiple networks can become a Solar Landscape: corridor- or regional-scale distributed energy infrastructure.
A complementary pathway is the Gaudí-inspired Climate-Resilient Greenhouse, using a Solar Digital Skin as an adaptive climate-energy envelope integrating PV generation, radiation and heat management, sensing, irrigation, water management and predictive climate control. The greenhouse is conceived not only as a production facility, but as a climate-resilience demonstration and research platform.
The system can deliver energy, mobility, climate-resilience and productive services: distributed PV, BESS, flexible loads, EV/e-bike charging, Climate Refugia, heat-risk response, irrigation, water management, food production and waterfront applications.
A predictive intelligence layer is also being explored with UBIMET GmbH in Austria, including high-resolution weather data, forecasting, extreme-weather warnings, heat-risk forecasting, predictive PV generation and climate-risk assessment to support storm-safe operation, BESS/EMS optimisation and adaptive control.
Potential Need-Owner demonstrations are being discussed with two municipalities in Türkiye:
Sivas: three complementary scales are under consideration: 27 June Teachers’ Park as a public-space climate and energy hub; a Climate-Resilient Greenhouse as a municipality-university research platform for Solar Digital Skin, energy, water and sensors; and Kızılırmak River Phase 2 as the larger integration and replication environment for mobility, EV charging, hospitality, public space and water applications.
Bandırma: a contrasting coastal port-city and industrial context with potential for distributed EV Oasis networks, renewable generation and storage, Climate Refugia, mobility electrification and waterfront climate-energy hubs.
Together, Sivas and Bandırma provide two different territorial conditions for testing one common ClimateFlex architecture and strengthening demonstration, validation and replication.
The consortium is under formation. Climate Assets brings the original concept, system architecture, spatial asset family, use-case integration and exploitation logic. We are seeking partners for:
1. Coordinator / system integrator
2. DSO / utility / grid and flexibility
3. BESS / EMS integration
4. Prototype engineering / manufacturing, including lightweight structures, flexible PV / Solar Digital Skin, fabrication and pilot installation
5. Replication / validation through a municipality, Living Lab, utility, RTO or regional energy environment
The Stage-1 objective is to form a focused consortium able to move from the current system architecture toward physical prototypes, integrated energy-system validation, real-world demonstration and European replication.
