Climate Assets — Distributed Climate-Energy Assets for Integrated Regional Energy Systems

About

Climate Assets is developing a distributed family of multifunctional climate-energy assets that combine renewable generation, storage, intelligent energy management, e-mobility and climate-adaptation services.

The project starts from a lightweight photovoltaic infrastructure — the Solar Patio — designed not only to generate local renewable energy, but also to provide shade, thermal comfort, cooling, lighting, charging and other climate and public-space services.

The system is conceived as a scalable hierarchy:

Solar Patio → Solar Garden / e-Agora → Solar Forest / e-Oasis → Solar Landscape / e-Corridor

The immediate R&D objective is to move from the current concept and pre-engineering stage towards a measured physical prototype and operational pilot, integrating lightweight PV, deployable or adaptable structures, battery storage, EMS/control, climate services, e-mobility and monitoring.

At larger scale, multiple Climate Assets can be interconnected as part of an integrated regional energy system, contributing to distributed renewable generation, local storage, demand flexibility, mobility integration, energy-community services and potentially aggregation or VPP functions.

The project also explores the interaction between stationary and mobile energy assets. Bidirectional electric cars, vans and fleets can become temporary energy and flexibility resources while parked, connecting mobility with local generation, storage, buildings and communities.

The consortium is currently being formed. The project architecture and core demonstrator pathway are defined, while selected partner roles remain open.

We are particularly seeking partners with expertise in:

• energy systems, EMS and flexibility;
• battery storage and load management;
• lightweight PV and industrial technology integration;
• mechanical and prototype engineering;
• testing, monitoring and validation;
• Living Labs, municipalities and regional demonstrators;
• energy communities and e-mobility integration;
• replication in additional European regions.

We are also particularly interested in Need Owners and demonstration territories able to participate in real-world validation and help shape the requirements of the integrated regional energy system.

The objective is not to develop an isolated solar product, but to demonstrate how distributed climate-energy assets can become part of a broader regional energy system while simultaneously providing climate resilience, public-value services and new opportunities for local energy flexibility.

The architecture is defined; selected roles remain open. We are looking for partners who want to help shape the proposal and co-develop the demonstrator.
