Subject: Potential agro-productive pilot — Climate Assets / CETP relevance

Dear all,

I wanted to share a potential pilot opportunity that has recently emerged, and that may be relevant for the Clean Energy Transition Partnership consortium-building process.

We have identified a possible agro-productive pilot involving a farm-estate with productive greenhouses, smart irrigation needs, outdoor hospitality/event spaces, a parking area and local mobility/logistics requirements. The owners have expressed initial interest in exploring how the Climate Assets approach could support their ambition for greater operational self-sufficiency and climate resilience.

The opportunity could be framed as a living-lab case around:

  • distributed solar assets: Solar Patios, Solar Gardens, Solar Forests and solar-digital skins;

  • greenhouses: a possible solar-digital / light-management photovoltaic greenhouse skin;

  • smart irrigation and water-care infrastructure;

  • digital energy and climate management;

  • battery / flexibility potential;

  • EV charging and light electric logistics;

  • Mediterranean replication for agro-productive environments exposed to heat stress.

The core concept is not simply to install PV on agricultural land. The idea is to explore a more integrated energy-water-food-climate nexus: local clean energy generation, intelligent light and radiation management for greenhouses, smart irrigation, climate adaptation, and electric mobility/logistics for a productive Mediterranean site.

This could potentially fit CETP themes around distributed energy resources, flexibility, local generation, digital control, climate adaptation and replicable regional energy systems. It may also offer a useful private-sector demonstration case, complementing more urban Climate Assets applications such as EV Oasis, climate streets, solar patios and solar gardens.

At this stage, this is still an emerging opportunity from a first informal conversation with the owners, not yet a confirmed project. However, I think it may be useful to consider it as a possible pilot / living-lab candidate within the consortium discussion.

I would be happy to prepare a short 1–2 page concept note if you think this could be relevant for the CETP matchmaking or consortium-building process.

Best regards,
