Copper flow battery pilot
About
We are proposing a development and piloting of a 1MWh CFB battery system that fits in two TEU shipping containers. This system can be configured from 4 to 8 hour storage duration depending on project parameters, for 2 types of applications. Firstly, with an energy-intensive company can perform energy arbitrage and cost saving by storing electricity during lower hours during the spot market for use when prices are high. Secondly, co-located with either wind or solar generators for peak shifting of over-produced electricity, hence generating revenue over longer hours and reducing the curtailment costs.
Our technology has a 30% lower levelized cost of storage than established Li batteries with 5 times longer cycle lifetime, due to our non-degrading electrolyte and cost-effective battery stack manufacturing process.
