High-temperature heat pump development / process simulation partner

Matthias Finkenrath

Professor for energy and process engineering at Kempten University of Applied Sciences

Kempten, Germany

About

We are experts in high-temperature heat pump process simulation, with a focus on thermodynamic modelling, system integration, and techno-economic assessment of advanced heat pump concepts for industrial decarbonization.

At Kempten University of Applied Sciences, we are currently leading one of Germany’s major research projects in this field together with industrial partners such as Siemens Energy and ecop Technologies, funded by the German Ministry of Energy and Economics. The project investigates both established high-temperature heat pump technologies (vapour-compression, mechanical vapour recompression) and highly innovative concepts, including the Rotation Heat Pump (Brayton cycle) developed by ecop Technologies. Our work combines detailed process simulation with application-oriented analysis to assess efficiency, operating limits, integration options, and decarbonization potential in industrial energy systems.

We would be happy to support any related proposal with our CETP process simulation expertise.
