About

We are preparing a proposal for the upcoming CETPartnership Joint Call 2025 – Call Module 6: Heating and Cooling Technologies (TRI4).
Our focus is a laboratory-based determination of the vertical hydraulic permeability of grouted BHE assemblies under realistic pressure and temperature conditions, using different pipes and backfilling materials. We aim to investigate:

  • Material and system sealing capacity under varying curing and operational conditions

  • Processes potentially occurring during backfilling (e.g., annular gap formation due to pressure tests)

  • Influences of emulated operational thermal and mechanical stresses

  • Correlations between installation parameters and sealing quality

  • and support regulatory reviews governing the construction and operation of BHE

We are looking for international partners from CETP-participating countries, especially:

  • Research institutes or universities with expertise in BHE, geotechnics, materials science, hydrogeology, or environmental protection

  • BHE drilling & installation companies (practical expertise, installation procedures, construction requirements)

  • Manufacturers of BHE pipes and backfilling materials (pipes, and grouts)

  • SMEs developing sensor technology, quality control tools, or installation equipment for geothermal boreholes

  • Public authorities or agencies with interest in standardisation and regulatory uptake
