Solid Hydrogen Carrier Regeneration to enable a novel, sustainable hydrogen value chain
About
In order for hydrogen to reach its full potential as a primary and sustainable source of clean energy, the world needs better options for moving and storing H2. Aich2 Energy has engineered an entirely novel value chain that eliminates much of the cost and complexities associated with compressing and/or cooling hydrogen as required today.
We move and store hydrogen as a SOLID material that is stable at normal pressure and temperature, requires no proprietary handling equipment, does not degrade over time enabling long term stockpiling, and is far safer than any other alternative energy carrier. At the point-of-use, our patent-pending Modular Hydrogen Storage and Production Units convert the solid carrier back to pure hydrogen gas as needed. Our MH units can supply either a hydrogen combustion or fuel cell based device to generate off grid, green energy.
To complete the closed loop system, we aim to demonstrate and deploy regeneration of our solid hydrogen carriers at scale. While multiple methods of regeneration have been explored at bench scale, to our knowledge this has not been done at industrial scale. Aich2 has developed a proprietary, patent-pending process to regenerate our solid hydrogen carriers capturing renewable energy and a variety of donor hydrogen sources.
We are looking for industrial, academic, and commercial partners interested working with us to prove our regeneration methodology is viable and commercially scalable. We already have a vibrant working group comprised of academic and industry experts and look forward to adding complementary skills and capabilities. Ideal partners have complementary technologies, chemical engineering assets, and physical locations capable of bench and small industrial scale testing and refinement.
