Utilisation of synergies between wind farms and various energy storage systems including hydrogen

Tim Tölle

Research Assistant at Ruhr-University Bochum, Institute for Power Systems Technology and Power Mechatronics (EneSys)

Germany

About

With extensive expertise in control and energy systems engineering, EneSys utilizes its unique research-infrastructure, the Smart Windpark Laboratory (SWiPLab), for testing and validating control concepts and analyzing wind flow dynamics in windfarms under realistic conditions. The SWiPLab is capable of modeling interactions between individual wind turbines and between whole wind farms.

The goal of the project is to combine the advanced modeling techniques for wind flow analysis and the detailed machine test benches in the SWiPlab with hydrogen and other energy storage systems.
