Istanbul Okan University

Istanbul Okan University, one of the youngest and the most dynamic universities of Turkey, was founded by Okan Culture, Education, and Sports Foundation in 1999 and began its academic life in 2003-2004.

Professor Aytac Gogus is dean of the Faculty of Education and a professor of Educational Sciences at Istanbul Okan University, a member of the quality commission, developer and coordinator of the Faculty Support Program and the Faculty Member Training and Development Program. She received her PhD degree and MA in Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation at Syracuse University, USA. She received MS in Mathematics from the Middle East Technical University and BSc in Mathematics from Gazi University. She worked as a K-12 mathematics and classroom teacher in Turkey, a teaching assistant at Syracuse University in the USA, a researcher position in many projects, a postdoctoral researcher at Syracuse University, an instructional designer and course writer for the preparation of web-based courses for higher education at McGraw Hill, upon her return to Turkey a lecturer and expert at the Center for Individual and Academic Development at Sabancı University, a visiting researcher at the University of Toledo, and later as the head of the Department of Educational Sciences at Istanbul Okan University. She has many educational projects, directed theses, scientific publications, book, book chapters, and encyclopedia chapters related to learning and teaching methods, integration of technology into education, the effective use of artificial intelligence in learning environments, considering inclusion and diversity in teaching.
