About
IUVO is an Italian wearable robotics company and a spin-off of The BioRobotics Institute at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. The company develops exoskeletons and wearable robots from low to high TRL for medical, industrial, and fitness/wellness applications. Since 2017, IUVO has been majority-owned by a joint venture between Comau and Össur, combining strong industrial roots with a solid IP portfolio and extensive experience in EU-funded projects.
IUVO supports EU consortia across the full innovation pipeline—from early-stage concepts to high-TRL prototypes and market-ready products. Core competencies include mechatronic design, embedded sensing and control, and experimental human-in-the-loop validation, with a strong focus on translating research results into deployable solutions.
In the occupational domain, IUVO has co-developed three exoskeletons currently on the market (including MATE-XT, MATE-XT 4.0, and MATE-XB), providing direct experience in productization, certification, and real-world deployment.
IUVO brings consolidated experience across both Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programmes, including REHYB, EUROBENCH, INBOTS, CONBOTS, CYBERLEGs++, MARI4_YARD, HuMan, Deterministic6G, and SWAG, spanning RIA, IA, and CSA actions in wearable robotics and human-centred technologies.
IUVO is open to participate in EU consortia as an industrial partner, technology developer, technology provider, or exploitation and market uptake contributor.
