Wearable robotics and exoskeleton development, validation and real-world deployment (IUVO)

Research and EU Programme Manager at IUVO

Pontedera, Pisa, Italy

About

IUVO offers consolidated industrial and technical expertise in exoskeleton development across industrial, medical, and fitness/wellness domains, supporting EU-funded R&I activities. Our experience covers the full technology lifecycle, from early-stage concepts to high-TRL prototypes and market-ready systems.

What we offer to EU consortia:

  • Exoskeleton development (passive, semi-active, and active technologies)

  • Mechatronic design, embedded sensing, electronics integration, and control architectures

  • Biomechanics-driven design and human–robot interaction

  • Experimental human-in-the-loop validation and performance assessment

  • Support to productization, exploitation, and real-world deployment

Industrial assets:

  • Development of three market-deployed occupational exoskeletons (including MATE-XT, MATE XT4.0, and MATE-XB)

  • Development of a portfolio of active and semi-active exoskeleton and modules (actuation, sensing, control) available for integration in EU-funded projects

  • 29 patent families in wearable robotics, combining internally generated IP and licensed assets

IUVO has participated in several Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe initiatives (RIA/IA and selected CSA activities, e.g., INBOTS), including REHYB, EUROBENCH, CONBOTS, CYBERLEGs++, MARI4_YARD, HuMan, Deterministic6G, and SWAG.

We are available as an industrial partner, technology developer, technology provider, WP contributor or leader, validation partner, and exploitation contributor.
