Trusted AI Governance & Digital Transformation

Associate Professor at The University of Georgia

Tbilisi, Georgia

About

I am Dr. Irakli Petriashvili, representing the University of Georgia. My work bridges high-level academic research with practical implementation in governmental oversight, supported by international affiliations at the University of Sussex and Rutgers University.

Broadening the Impact of AI in Public Services While my core research involves AI in auditing, Explainable AI (XAI), Data Governance, and Anti-Corruption frameworks I offer my interdisciplinary expertise that is applicable to a wide range of Horizon Europe Cluster 4 and WIDERA calls:

  • Trustworthy AI & Data Governance: Developing frameworks for "Explainable AI" (XAI) to ensure public sector algorithms are transparent, unbiased, and compliant with European values.

  • Ready-to-Use Pilot Site: Access to the ecosystem for real-world testing of AI agents and data orchestration tools.

  • EU AI Act Compliance: Expertise in developing frameworks that ensure public sector algorithms are transparent, unbiased, and compliant with European standards.

  • Digital Transformation of Public Administration: Expertise in streamlining internal government processes through AI-enabled data orchestration and policy evaluation.

  • Financial Oversight & Accountability: Utilizing advanced data analytics and GenAI to detect anomalies, prevent corruption, and manage public resources more effectively.

  • Socio-Technical Impact: Analyzing how digital transitions affect public trust and administrative efficiency, particularly in "Widening" countries.

I am looking to join international consortia as Work Package Leader or Task Leader focusing specializing in Pilot Implementation, Data Ethics, Policy Evaluation, Public Sector Use-Cases, or Administrative Pilot Testing. I bring a unique perspective from a Senior Auditor's viewpoint combined with Associate Professor-level academic rigor, making us an ideal partner for the following preliminary topics:

  • HORIZON-CL4-2026-05-DIGITAL-EMERGING-02: Next-gen AI agents for real-world applications.
