Born in Meta di Sorrento (NA) on 04-02-1948
Embarked as Deck Officer of the Merchant Navy from 1966 to 1968, he obtained the "Long Course Captain" license in 1968 (Examination Commission of the Port Authority of Palermo)
He graduated in Electronic Engineering with 110/110 cum laude in 1973 (University of Naples)
He served in Military Service in MMI as Naval Arms Office from 1973 to 1975
During his career as an engineer in industry he has held the following positions:
- from 1975 to 1979 Radar systems designer at Selenia SpA (now Selex SI then Leonardo).
Author of numerous Technical Reports and publications in the Radar sector. I took care of the system setup of the first Phased Array Radar (EMPAR) of Soc. Selenia SpA (now Leonardo).
-from 1980 to 1985 Design engineer of electronic defense systems at Società Elettronica SpA. In particular I took care of the system design of the first COMM electronic defense systems of the Company. The first SIGINT COMM system has been studied, designed and built for the Italian Air Force, the first communication interception and disturbance system (Fast Jammer 2PB) for the Pakistani Air Force and the first interferometric radio direction finder for aeronautical applications for 'South African Air Force.’
- from 1985 to 1987 "Head of Systems and Research" of the company ELTCOM SpA. He acquired the highest level of responsibility and expertise in systems of interception, direction finding and localization of e.m. signals. and in systems of disturbance / deception (C-ESM, COMM-JAM, C-IED). As research manager he innovated the direction finding sector by setting up the new antenna arrays and the new correlative vector algorithms adopted by R&D many years later. The first airborne interception and disturbance / deception system for air navigation radio aids (TARAN) for the Spanish Air Force was studied, designed and built.
-from 1987 to 1990 Sales Director for the Military sector of the company ELTCOM SpA. This position concerned both the national and international market. This experience has made it possible to acquire in-depth knowledge of the military market of National Electronic Defense (EI, MMI, AMI, Segredifesa) and international (Spain, India, Central American countries, China, etc…).
- from 1990 to 2004 Sales Manager for the Italian Army, the Guardia di Finanza and Police Forces of Società Elettronica SpA.
-From 2005 to 2009, he was responsible for COMM Systems within the Advanced Systems Department of Elettronica SpA. In this capacity he oversaw the setting up and acquisition of research programs in the Military field (National Military Research Plan).
- since 2010 Consultant and Technical Director of Soc SenTech. In this capacity he has gained extensive experience on 3D image processing systems for the medical sector. The main systems available abroad (Medinria, 3D SLICER, SPM, FIBER TOOL, etc.) have been studied with the University of La Sapienza; then they were made in SenTech SRL SW specialists for applications in neurosurgery.
- since 2010 Experience in the field of radioelectric signal processing for correlative direction finding applications with multiple antenna arrays (5, 7, 8, 9 antennas in arrays) implementing super-resolution techniques essential for new types of signals ( CDMA, OFDM, etc ...); Fast Passive location systems for avionics applications.
Experience in the fields of Artificial Intelligence for EO / IR applications (Change detection, Automatic target recognition, SLAM, etc ...) and for applications to SAR signals for military entities.
Experience in the Radar sector (realization of a Real Time responsive Radar Target Generator capable of generating complex scenarios with planes and missiles with variable dynamics).
Further Activities and Qualifications
- Professor of Integrated Electronic Defense Systems at the II level Master in COMPLEX ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS ENGINEERING at the Higher Courses of Electronics and Computer Science of the Defense Staff on behalf of the CNR and of the Roma 3 University (Department of Applied Electronics) from 1990 to 2007
- Professor of Integrated Electronic Defense Systems and Homeland Security at the II level Master in COMPLEX ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS ENGINEERING at the Chiavari Armed Forces School from 2007 to 2011 on behalf of the University of Genoa (Permanent Training Center of the University of the Studies of Genoa)
- Teacher at the Guardia di Finanza Aviation Center for obtaining Military Aircraft Maintenance Licenses (M.A.M.L) pursuant to the PP.TT AER(EP). P-66 “Military Aircraft Maintenance Training Organisations” in 2024.
- Registered in the Register of Consultants of the Court of Rome for electronics, telecommunications, radar systems, electronic defense. Appraisals as expert witnesses in disputes between large national and international companies in the field of radar and systems.
