How to transform everyday travel choices for a sustainable transition in our cities
The workshop is co-organised by ICLEI Europe, CERTH/HIT and Climanet (non-profit entity representing the six Greek Mission cities, Thessaloniki, Athens, Trikala, Kozani, Ioannina, Kalamata, and Limassol, Cyprus). The workshop focuses on the impact of digital information and nudging strategies to engage citizens and influence their travel behaviour. The findings of the Mobilair project in Thessaloniki as well as from other Cities will be presented. The audience will be then split in separate round tables of smaller groups, to trigger a brainstorm among interested cities and provide answers to the following questions:
1. What are the experiences from previous attempts to engage the users in green mobility choices? What are the results and lessons learned?
2. How to assess mobility behaviour changes and impact in the long term?
3. What could be key factors and a more impactful strategy to influence citizens’ behaviour to green mobility choices? How can digital applications facilitate those strategies?
4. How can citizen behavior change in mobility habits/patterns measured?
5. What methods can we use to maximise the impacts city wide?
6. What needs to be taken into account to deploy a behavior change initiative such as MOBILAIR in other cities?
