From data to decisions: implementing Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs)
The workshop aims to explore how Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) can evolve to address Functional Urban Areas (FUAs), improve mobility data collection and strengthen implementation phase with clear guide on the usage of collected data. The discussion will build on the updated SUMP guidelines and indicators, including emerging mobility trends, the role of integrated public transport systems and stronger focus on integration of urban logistics as a component and consideration in SUMPs. Special focus will also be given to how data supports decision-making, multimodal public transport planning, network integration and evidence-based policy development, experimentation, and scaling of mobility innovations in complex urban systems.
The workshop will foster an open dialogue on how SUMPs can move forward under the new European Guidelines, enabling evidence-based, adaptive and resilient sustainable mobility systems. It will combine short expert input with interactive roundtable discussions, creating space for exchange between policymakers, operators, planners, researchers. Input, knowledge, Good Practices, Pilot Activities and SoA approaches will be shared from projects: IR-E REFOCUS, Interreg IPA ADRION 2021-2027 TERRAIN jointly with IPA ADRION Cluster No 9 Carbon neutral city transport, BSR Urban Mobility Platform, and MITHOS.
