Active Mobility for Liveable, Healthy Cities — How Cities Make It Happen? (Part I)

This session focuses on the practicalities of making active mobility happen on the ground. Cities across Europe have moved beyond strategy to deliver tangible change: reallocating street space, redesigning school environments, building cycling skills at community level and embedding accessibility into the design process. Five speakers bring concrete city and project experience, covering the full delivery chain from political commitment to street-level implementation. Each intervention addresses a specific challenge and draws out what worked, what did not and what another city can take away. The session is structured as a moderated panel with short interventions followed by facilitated discussion and audience Q&A. Speakers are encouraged to use a few image-led slides rather than dense presentations, keeping the exchange conversational and grounded in practice. The European Declaration on Cycling and CIVITAS emphasis on replication-ready solutions provide the shared policy frame.
