Organization of Urban Transportation of Thessaloniki

As the primary public transport operator serving the Thessaloniki metropolitan area, OASTH plays a central role in delivering sustainable, accessible and inclusive urban mobility. Through the continuous modernisation of its services, the deployment of intelligent transport technologies and the enhancement of multimodal integration with the city's expanding public transport network, OASTH actively contributes to the transition towards cleaner and more efficient mobility.

A key milestone in this transition has been the renewal of its fleet through the acquisition of 160 electric buses under the "Greece 2.0" National Recovery and Resilience Plan, significantly reducing transport emissions while improving passenger comfort and service quality.

Together with the introduction of a modern ticketing system, integration with the new Thessaloniki Metro and closer coordination with suburban services, OASTH's ongoing investments strongly support the objectives of connected, resilient and zero-emission urban mobility promoted by the CIVITAS Initiative and DG MOVE.

OASTH will contribute with an in-kind contribution sponsorship, providing electric buses for the transfer of the participants to/from the site visits locations of CIVITAS Forum 2026.
