Transforming Deciduous Fruit Pruning with AI-Driven Autonomous Laser Robotics
CEO at Robotic Perception

About
Robotic Perception is an agricultural robotics company developing TrueCut, an autonomous AI-driven laser pruning platform for deciduous fruit trees. We are seeking to join a Horizon Europe Cluster 6 consortium as a SME/technology partner.
TrueCut replaces manual pruning with precise, contactless laser cutting combined with AI-based pruning decision-making and single vine-level data generation, with sub-cm precision. The system reduces labour dependency, improves pruning consistency, lowers disease transmission risk through cauterized cuts, and enables data-driven crop optimization.
Our solution is currently at TRL 5, with validated AI-based detection and laser cutting components in relevant environments. We are preparing for full system field validation (TRL 6) and are looking for consortium partners to collaborate on:
• Sustainable and resilient deciduous fruit farm management
• Reduction of pesticide use and disease transmission
• Digitalisation and AI-driven decision support in agriculture
• Robotics and automation for labour-intensive farming operations
• Field validation, agronomic trials, and impact assessment
Robotic Perception already has commercial traction, including validation of our AI-powered precision sprayer by the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture, and active deployment of yield-prediction systems with growers. The predecessor to the TrueCut system was also demonstrated at World FIRA – the leading global convention for autonomous farming technologies. Future Farming wrote an article about the demonstration here.
We are particularly interested in collaborating with:
• Research institutes and universities (plant science, pathology, agronomy)
• Vineyard and orchard associations
• Large growers and pilot sites in Europe
• Agri-equipment manufacturers
• Sustainability and impact assessment partners
We aim to contribute advanced robotics, AI decision systems, and laser-based plant treatment technology to a strong European consortium addressing sustainable, resilient, and climate-adaptive perennial, deciduous-fruit agriculture.
We are ready and eager to support proposal writing and technical work package leadership related to autonomous systems and precision plant treatment.
