About
As Doğuş Teknoloji, we can develop a digital comparison platform that supports organic crop breeding for intercropping systems.
The platform will provide a centralized environment where breeders, researchers, and farmers can:
-
List and compare organic crop varieties based on their performance under different climatic conditions.
-
Access data on new cross-breeding results and evaluate their suitability for intercropping and organic production.
-
Engage in discussions and knowledge exchange, fostering collaboration among farmers and breeders.
The platform will require guidance from domain experts to define relevant data categories (e.g., crop traits, eco-physiological parameters, soil interaction metrics) and to ensure compliance with organic breeding regulations.
Data will be collected from various sources, including (if available):
-
Existing Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe project outputs
-
European research infrastructures in environment, biological, and food domains
-
Field trials and experimental plots
-
Public agricultural databases and climate datasets
Key functionalities of the platform will include:
-
Crop Performance Dashboard: Displays growth, yield, and resilience metrics for different varieties under varying conditions.
-
Intercropping Compatibility Scoring: Rates crop combinations based on complementarity, competition, and facilitation mechanisms.
-
Discussion Forum: Enables farmers and breeders to share experiences and best practices.
-
Regulatory Guidance Section: Provides information on OHM and OVSOP compliance for breeding material.
We can fulfill the below scope/outcomes of the call:
- an improved understanding of key target traits for developing varieties adapted to intercropping farming systems is available to researchers and breeders, benefiting all agricultural systems;
- identify crop combinations and superior–performing variety combinations that consistently yield well together;
