About
Building on the Pomology Laboratory’s expertise in fruit-quality mechanisms and cultivation-trait regulation in kiwifruit, olive, cherry, apple, and peach, this opportunity focuses on creating scalable, accessible, and climate-smart breeding methods. Through advanced phenotyping, genomic-trait characterization, and genotype × environment analysis, the laboratory can support the acceleration of breeding cycles, enhancement of sustainability traits, and implementation of genomic selection models. This opportunity invites collaboration with breeders, public agencies, and industry to co-develop standardized, user-friendly breeding tools and protocols that strengthen resilience, biodiversity, productivity, and quality across perennial fruit species.
