HORIZON-CL6-2026-02-CLIMATE-01 – TOWARDS MORE EFFECTIVE, FAIR AND COHERENT POLICIES FOR CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION AND ADAPTATION IN AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY

Who we are?: Gazda Kontroll Ltd (Hungary) is a private agricultural advisory and innovation management company supporting 300+ farms across all Hungarian regions. We work daily at the interface between policy, advisory systems and farm-level implementation, helping farmers adapt to climate change while remaining economically viable. Our strength lies in translating complex policy frameworks into operational decisions, and in feeding farm-level evidence and experience back into policy analysis.

Strategic fit: Gazda Kontroll can contribute to this call by ensuring that analyses of climate policies reflect real farm-level impacts and constraints, capture distributional effects and fairness considerations, and consider implementation feasibility within CAP and national advisory systems. This directly supports the call’s focus on effectiveness, coherence and socio-economic trade-offs of climate policies in agriculture and forestry

• Climate adaptation & mitigation in practice: Advisory experience on climate-resilient cropping systems, rotations and nutrient management; Practical understanding of mitigation–adaptation synergies and trade-offs; Experience supporting farmers under increasing climate variability and regulatory pressure

• CAP, climate policy & implementation reality: Deep knowledge of CAP rules, conditionalities and voluntary measures; Insight into how climate, biodiversity and income-support measures interact at farm level; Ability to identify unintended consequences and administrative burdens

• Socio-economic impacts & fairness: Daily exposure to distributional effects of policies across farm sizes and regions; Understanding of income risks, investment constraints and behavioural responses; Capacity to contribute to qualitative and mixed-method SSH analyses

• Data, evidence & advisory systems: Access to parcel-, farm- and region-level agronomic and economic data; Embedded in advisory networks enabling evidence collection and validation; Ability to support comparative case studies and cross-policy analysis

• Science–policy–practice learning: Proven experience facilitating mutual learning between farmers, advisors and researchers; Contribution to policy-relevant recommendations grounded in practice
