Boosting the competitiveness of protein crops in Europe
Associate researcher at INRAT
Tunis, Tunisia
About
I am interested in research on disease management and control in protein crops, with a particular focus on legumes and pulses. My research interests encompass the study of major and emerging plant pathogens affecting protein crops, including fungal, and soil-borne diseases, and the analysis of their epidemiology under diverse agro-ecological conditions.
A key area of interest is the development of integrated disease management strategies, combining host resistance, cultural practices, biological control, and rational use of fungicides. Special attention is given to fungicide resistance development, risk assessment, and anticipatory strategies to ensure sustainable and long-term disease control.
My research also includes pathogen characterization and diagnostics, disease surveillance, and the use of climatic and epidemiological data to support early warning systems and decision-making tools. In the context of climate change, I am particularly interested in understanding how shifting environmental conditions influence disease pressure and pathogen populations in protein crops
