About

Our team has participated the last years in EU projects (besides educational ones like Erasmus) targeting protected areas management (ECOSUSTAIN-Interreg) using ITC tools for monitoring and policy harmonization, NBS solutions modelling and design for natural disasters mitigation (RESIST- Horizon), and community engagement tools including Citizen Science schemes for community tranformation and innovative management (FutureLakes-Horizon).

Regarding national projects, we have succesfully (best practice) implemented a spring to sea monitoring and modelling with novel techniques (ITC, satellite, fuzzy networks and hydrological state of the art models) excellence programme for rural basins, small island wetlands management, hydromorphological pressure-impact analyses on lakes, and boundaries establishment for lake physicichemical quality elements under the WFD.

Our focal area in this Horizon call is the utilization of NBS in assisting biodiversity protection, nutrient and water circularity, ecohydrological approaches in catchment-scale transformative management, enhancing climate resilience.

We are willing to participate in partnerships targeting novel approaches in surface waters bottom-up management with community engagement (citizen science).
