About
About
Mercy Hands Europe (MHEU) is looking to join a consortium under the Horizon Europe Mission Soil call focused on broadening the Living Labs approach for soil health in Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
We bring field-proven implementation capacity through our Eco-Irrigation and Sustainable Entrepreneurship project in South Omo, Ethiopia, where we combine solar-powered irrigation, green enterprise development, and sustainable land use practices in a fragile, pastoralist setting.
We are particularly interested in joining a consortium that is looking for:
-
A Living Lab site in East Africa focused on soil regeneration, agroecology, and participatory innovation.
-
Partners with experience in degraded and drought-affected ecosystems.
-
Actors promoting inclusive, community-led approaches to sustainable land and soil management.
Our value-added
-
Real-life experience in dryland restoration and sustainable soil use
-
Close collaboration with local authorities and Agri Service Ethiopia
-
Integration of soil health with climate-resilient crop and livestock production
-
Strong community engagement and gender-balanced enterprise models
-
Potential to replicate and scale up across pastoralist regions
We are open to collaboration with research institutions, NGOs, private sector actors, and Living Lab networks active in Africa or LAC.
