Monitoring the success of nature restoration actions
About
This project aims to develop an integrated, sensor-based monitoring framework to evaluate and optimize nature restoration measures across diverse European ecosystems. By combining remote sensing, acoustic monitoring, image-based analysis and other modalities, we will track ecological responses over time—capturing changes in vegetation, biodiversity, and habitat quality. The goal is to assess the effectiveness of restoration actions, identify success factors, and provide data-driven recommendations for adaptive management. The project supports EU biodiversity and climate goals by enabling scalable, cost-effective, and science-based restoration monitoring, aligned with Horizon Europe Cluster 6 priorities.
