AI-Based Mapping of Afforestation Potential for Climate Mitigation
About
We propose a project to identify afforestation potential in non-forest and marginal lands across different ecological zones in Türkiye. Using GIS, remote sensing, and AI-based modeling, we aim to estimate carbon sequestration potential and assess ecosystem service changes post-afforestation via tools like InVEST. We are seeking partners experienced in land restoration, nature-based solutions, ecological monitoring, or policy development for collaboration under Cluster 6, particularly in climate mitigation and sustainable land use.
