Empowering Circular Economy in Türkiye’s Cotton and Textile Value Chain
About
This project aims to establish a circular economy model in Türkiye’s cotton and textile value chain, with a focus on reducing environmental impact and increasing resource efficiency. In collaboration with Istinye University and a Chamber of Commerce, the initiative seeks to transform cotton waste into reusable inputs, promote fiber recycling, and implement traceable, low-impact production systems. The project also supports SMEs and rural producers by providing access to circular production methods, technical know-how, and digital tools for monitoring sustainability performance. CottonLoop will connect actors from agriculture, manufacturing, and trade, forming a scalable circular business ecosystem that strengthens local economies while contributing to Europe’s green and digital transitions. The project is fully aligned with the goals of Horizon Europe Cluster 6, particularly in the areas of bioeconomy, zero pollution, and resilient rural development.
