The HES-SO University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Western Switzerland comprises 28 institutions of higher education. Its various study streams and research activities fall into six faculties: Design and Fine Arts; Business, Management and Services; Engineering and Architecture; Music and Performing Arts; Health; and Social Work.
I am an Associate Professor in Materials Science in the Department of Systems Engineering at HES-SO Valais (Switzerland). I hold an MSc and a PhD specializing in manufacturing processes and their impact on part integrity. My research focuses on metallic additive manufacturing, with particular emphasis on understanding and controlling the impact of process parameters on material behavior, component integrity, and service life.
My work addresses the analysis of process–structure–property relationships through monitoring-based approaches, linking process parameters to part quality and performance. By combining in-situ and non-destructive monitoring with advanced material characterization, my research aims to better understand the underlying multiphysics phenomena involved in additive manufacturing processes and to improve process mastery and reliability.
These activities include the design and 3D printing of cellular materials, prototyping and optimization for sevveral domains such as medical applications and energy-related applications .
Within my research group, we have competencies in powder technologies, feedstock characterization, post-processing, advanced materials analysis, as well as in-process monitoring and process optimization.
I collaborate actively with Swiss and international partners through European and bilateral projects and have authored several scientific publications.
