HORIZON-JU-CBE-2024-IA-01: Strong Research Compounding Extrusion Expertise for biobased applications

The Compounding and extrusion division at the SKZ has an extensive knowledge in processing polymers (e.g., compounding, recyclates etc.) as well as producing semi-finished products (pipes, profiles, films etc.). The production quantity of polymers ranges from a few kilograms to tons. The production volume depends on the technology level of the targeted research (laboratory scale or scale-up) and on the limits of the process. In the area of compounding and extrusion, we support the process development of new innovative processes or ideas. Furthermore, other expertise is on the fields of modeling, simulation and consulting, prototype development / development tools as well as recycling. For the different research approaches, our technical extrusion center is equipped with various extrusion machine types (twin screw extruder, single screw extruder, ring extruder, recycling machine etc.) available on the market for polymer processing. Furthermore, a blown molding and thermoforming machine as well as equipment for blown film, flat film, profiles and pipes can be found in our technical center.
