Design or identification of new synthetic or nature-based anticancer agents
About
The Neuroimmunophysiology and Chrononutrition Research Group is composed by biologists and chemists who develop their research in the animal and human physiology fields. This group has large connections with regional, national, and international actors mainly belonging to health and agri-food environments, thus creating a multidisciplinary scenario to develop projects focused on applied research to contribute to a real transition towards healthy ecosystem.
Research expertise and competences:
- Design and synthesis of metallodrugs with potential as anticancer agents.
- Screening of drug candidates in in vitro models and further testing of positive hits in animal models.
- Functional assays of antioxidant-rich extracts obtained from vegetable matrices.
- Effect of plant matrices and new products of high functional value in animals and humans, including populations at risk (small-scale pre-clinical settings).
