About

The Brenda Strafford Foundation (BSF) is a Canadian charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for vulnerable populations through innovation, compassion, and excellence in care. Founded in 1975, BSF operates long-term care and assisted living communities in Alberta, with a focus on person-centred aging and evidence-informed practice. Beyond local operations, BSF supports global health and humanitarian efforts, including initiatives in Jamaica and Haiti that focus on elder care, eye health, and education.

Through its Centre for Learning, Innovation and Quality (CLIQ), the Foundation leads research, quality improvement, and knowledge mobilization efforts that drive system-level change in aging and health care. BSF is committed to addressing complex social challenges — from dementia care to domestic violence prevention — by investing in meaningful partnerships and scalable solutions. Guided by its core values of compassion, innovation, and accountability, The Brenda Strafford Foundation continues to pioneer new models of care that reflect the dignity, diversity, and evolving needs of the people it serves.
