31 MW wind project with BESS in Moldova – seeking developer

Terra Eolica is developing a 31 MW wind farm with battery storage in Drochia district, northern Moldova, together with a local Moldovan project company. We are looking for a co-developer or investor to take the project to ready-to-build.

Project

• Site of about 74 ha (21 plots) in Drochia district

• 5 wind turbines of the 6.2 MW class (162 m rotor, 119 m hub height), 31 MW in total

• Battery storage: 20 MW / 40 MWh

• Estimated gross energy yield: about 80 GWh/year (capacity factor about 29%)

• Grid: project substation 110/35 kV and a 110 kV overhead line of about 11 km to Moldelectrica's Drochia 110 kV substation, where published indicative capacity is about 85 MW

Status

• Grid connection application to Moldelectrica under the flexible connection regime of the new Electricity Law No. 164/2025

• Technical documentation prepared: site layout, primary equipment specification, project description

• Urban planning: preliminary consultations with local authorities

Cooperation sought

• A co-developer or investor to finance the development phase: grid solution study, wind measurement, environmental assessment and permits

• Technical partners for wind measurement, grid studies and EPC

Moldova's power system has been synchronised with ENTSO-E since 2022, and new generation capacity is a national energy security priority.
