About
MuteSkin® is a new class of add-ons for wind turbine blades that reduces aerodynamic trailing-edge noise. Its permeable design has demonstrated greater noise reduction than conventional serrations while preserving aerodynamic performance.
At noise-constrained sites, this additional noise reduction can allow turbines to operate at higher power settings for longer, helping generate up to 8% more annual energy production, depending on the turbine and operating conditions. This can improve project economics and increase the viability of noise-constrained wind projects.
MuteSkin is designed for integration on new turbines and for retrofit applications, using installation methods comparable to conventional trailing-edge add-ons.
MuTech works directly with turbine manufacturers, wind farm owners, and operators on turbine-specific integration, validation, and deployment of MuteSkin®. We are expanding our network of commercial and technical partners across Europe and other noise-constrained markets.
