Speaker: Thomas Chassaigts – Viticulture Technical Specialist

Thomas Chassaigts, technical specialist at the Chambre d’Agriculture des Pays de la Loire & Association Technique Viticole 49, supports winegrowers in adapting their vineyards to the challenges of climate change.

Since 2019, he has developed expertise in frost protection and climate adaptation, working on practical solutions including vineyard protection strategies, rootstocks, grape varieties, vine training, and canopy management.

Two innovative companies present technologies and solutions for cold-climate wine production and frost management in 7-minute pitches.

  • SLPA: innovative trellising solutions for cold-climate viticulture
    Speakers: Estelle Rigot and Fabien Desserez, SLPA Parnership Manager and Viticulture Specialist

    • INT 3NSE trellising system: SLPA's innovative trellising solution, designed to improve vineyard resilience and management.

    • Canadian application: feedback from SLPA's Canadian partner, VITIS-IMPORT, on implementing the INT 3NSE system in Canadian vineyards and adapting it to cold-climate viticulture.

  • VITITUNNEL:

    Speaker: Sébastien LABAT, Deputy GM Viti-Tunnel

    • Viti-Tunnel protects crops from weather-related risks—including rain, frost, hail, and excessive sunlight—using an innovative retractable covering system. Designed for viticulturists, market gardeners, horticulturists, and fruit growers.
