Welcome to our business trip to Mumbai and Bengaluru
We are delighted to welcome you as a participant or cooperation partner on this business trip.
Dear participants, partners, and friends,
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is a great pleasure to introduce this business delegation from the German State of Brandenburg to India to you. Our visit to Mumbai and Bengaluru reflects the growing importance and strong future potential of cooperation between the Indian economy and the German Capital Region Berlin-Brandenburg.
Brandenburg and India share a long tradition of exchange. Delegations from Brandenburg regularly travel to India, and our economic ties have strengthened in recent years. Several Indian companies have chosen Brandenburg as a business location, while Brandenburg companies have successfully invested in India. This development clearly shows that India is becoming an increasingly important partner for our region.
The size and diversity of this year’s delegation demonstrate the strong potential of our cooperation. Companies from sectors such as renewable energy, automotive, mechanical engineering, aerospace, medical technology, digitalization and e-commerce represent the wide range of innovation and expertise Brandenburg has to offer.
This partnership is further strengthened by the growing presence of Indian talent in Brandenburg. Indian students now form the largest group of international students at Brandenburg’s technical universities and universities of applied sciences, and the number of Indian professionals contributing to our economy continues to rise. This exchange of knowledge and skills benefits both sides in the long term.
Our visit comes at a promising time. In January 2026, the European Union and India concluded a Free Trade Agreement aimed at reducing tariffs and expanding trade. Such developments create new opportunities for companies and institutions in Brandenburg to build partnerships and explore new markets.
Trade between Brandenburg and India continues to grow steadily. In 2024, exports from Brandenburg to India increased significantly, and imports also rose strongly. While these figures show positive momentum, they also highlight the considerable potential that still exists for deeper economic cooperation.
This delegation trip is an important step towards unlocking that potential by strengthening networks, encouraging collaboration, and creating new business opportunities.
Thank you very much for your interest – may this journey further deepen our cooperation and open new opportunities for shared growth and innovation.
